November Blessings- Day 12 (These Are a Few of My Favorite Things)

“Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens, bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens. Brown paper packages tied up with string…”

Let’s talk about some of our favorite things this time of year. I’ll start and you finish:

Cold pumpkin pie with a dollop of whip cream

Freshly fallen, fluffy snow, sparkling in the sunlight

Craft tables filled with little girls, paint and glitter

Creamy hot chocolate with those little marshmallows

Cozy fireplace nights snuggled up with one of my favorite people

Homemade turkey dinner with family gathered around the table

Decorating all out with darling daughters of mine

Laughing aloud while watching funny Christmas movies

β™₯ It’s the little moments in life, right? What are some of your favorite things this time of year?Β β™₯

  1. I love your list, and those of the commenters!

    Some of mine:
Having both my children home for Thanksgiving
Red, yellow, and brown leaves; chasing Fall colors
    Frost on the lawn
Robust, and competitive games of Mexican Train, Uno and Sorry. a long Family
    Tradition over the Thanksgiving week-end.
    Fog
    The possibility of Thunder-rare here
    Rainbows- also rare here
Making my Mother’s recipe for Dressing- not stuffing. I double the recipe. It’s simple but so good!
Sharing/ bestowing all these traditions and loves with #1 Grandson.

  2. Some of Mine are:
1.Making cookies as it gets cold and dark outside and the kitchen fills with that sweet smell of heaven.
    2. Family gathering, laughing and joking around eating and cleaning up together. (just had 19 of the inlaws last night)
    3. My husbands birthday that we celebrate for 3 days LOL don’t ask!
    4. Brisk walks outside with my dog just make me feel so much alive.
    5. The season as it changes to winter and all the beauty that holds: from the first leave falling to the frost coating the grass to the first heavy snow that makes you want to stay curled up in bed, nice and safe.
